The adventure starts with an overnight stay in Entebbe, allowing guests to relax after arrival before heading into the wilderness. From there, the safari travels north to Murchison Falls National Park, with a memorable stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot. In Murchison Falls, guests enjoy rewarding game drives across open savannah plains and a scenic boat cruise along the Nile, offering close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and abundant birdlife against the dramatic backdrop of the falls.
The journey continues southwest to Kibale Forest National Park, renowned for its high concentration of primates. Here, guests experience an exciting chimpanzee tracking excursion and a guided walk through the community-managed Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, rich in bird species and cultural insights. From Kibale, the safari proceeds to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where classic game drives and a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel provide excellent opportunities to observe a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, lions, and numerous water birds.
The safari then travels through the remote Ishasha sector, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions, before reaching Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. A guided gorilla trekking experience offers a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with these gentle giants, complemented by a community walk that highlights local culture and conservation efforts. The adventure concludes with a visit to Lake Mburo National Park, known for its rolling landscapes and unique wildlife such as zebras and antelopes, before returning
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by your professional safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe. This lakeside town offers a calm and welcoming atmosphere, ideal for resting after your international journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the hotel or enjoy optional activities such as a walk along Lake Victoria or a visit to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens. Dinner and overnight will be at your hotel in Entebbe.
After an early breakfast, you will depart Entebbe for Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most diverse national park. En route, you will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where rhinos can be seen in the wild. Here, you will enjoy a guided rhino tracking experience on foot, offering a chance to observe these endangered animals at close range. After lunch, continue your journey northwards to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.
Today begins with an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, where you may spot elephants, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, antelopes, and a variety of bird species. The open savannah provides excellent wildlife viewing and photography opportunities. After lunch and a short rest, you will enjoy an afternoon boat cruise along the Nile to the base of the magnificent Murchison Falls. Along the riverbanks, you are likely to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous water birds. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.
After breakfast, you will transfer southwards to Kibale Forest National Park, traveling through scenic countryside, tea plantations, and traditional villages. The journey offers beautiful views of Uganda’s changing landscapes. You will arrive in the Kibale area in the afternoon, check in at your lodge, and spend the rest of the day relaxing as you prepare for the next day’s primate experience. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Following an early breakfast, you will head to Kibale Forest headquarters for a briefing before embarking on chimpanzee tracking. Accompanied by experienced rangers, you will trek through the forest in search of habituated chimpanzee groups, observing their behavior, communication, and playful nature. After returning from the trek and having lunch, you will visit the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided swamp walk. This community-run project is rich in birdlife, monkeys, and cultural insights. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.
After breakfast, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most popular wildlife destinations. The drive takes you through scenic crater lakes and rolling hills of western Uganda. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. The afternoon is at leisure, with chances to spot wildlife around the lodge or simply relax while enjoying views of the surrounding savannah. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Start the day with an early game drive in the Kasenyi plains, known for their high concentration of wildlife. Expect to see Uganda kob, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, and predators such as lions and hyenas. After lunch, you will take an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise offers excellent sightings of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a wide variety of birds at close range. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
After breakfast, you will drive south through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions. You will enjoy a game drive in search of these unique lions often seen resting in fig trees. After lunch, continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Today is the highlight of the safari. After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your gorilla trekking experience. Guided by park rangers, you will trek through dense forest in search of a gorilla family, a journey that can take several hours depending on their location. Once found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat. After returning to the lodge for lunch and rest, you will enjoy a community walk, interacting with local communities and learning about their culture and conservation efforts. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
After breakfast, you will depart Bwindi for Lake Mburo National Park, traveling through scenic countryside and pastoral landscapes. Lake Mburo is known for its open savannah, lakes, and unique wildlife such as zebras, elands, and impalas. You will arrive in time for lunch and enjoy a relaxed afternoon, with opportunities to spot wildlife around the lodge. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.
After breakfast, you will depart Lake Mburo and drive back to Entebbe, with a stop at the Equator for photos and souvenir shopping. Continue to Entebbe International Airport in time for your onward flight or be dropped at your hotel, marking the end of your 11-Day Uganda Wildlife Advent
