By flying between destinations, this safari allows you to avoid long road transfers and enjoy scenic aerial views of Uganda’s diverse landscapes.
The safari begins with a scheduled domestic flight from Entebbe to Kihihi Airstrip, followed by a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population. The highlight of the trip is an expertly guided gorilla trekking experience, where you hike through dense rainforest to spend a precious hour observing a habituated gorilla family in its natural habitat.
In addition to gorilla trekking, the safari includes a meaningful Batwa Community Walk, offering insight into the culture and traditions of the Batwa people, the original forest inhabitants. This cultural encounter adds depth to the safari by connecting conservation, heritage, and responsible tourism.

Tour Plan
After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airstrip for your scheduled domestic flight to Kihihi Airstrip, located near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy scenic aerial views of Uganda’s countryside, rolling hills, and forests during the flight.
Upon arrival at Kihihi, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred by road to your lodge in or near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive offers beautiful views of terraced hills, local villages, and dense rainforest.
Check in at the lodge, enjoy lunch, and spend the afternoon at leisure relaxing and preparing for the next day’s gorilla trek. A short guided nature walk around the lodge may be arranged depending on time and interest. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will then be assigned a gorilla family and set off into the forest accompanied by experienced guides and trackers.
Gorilla tracking can take between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas. Once located, you will spend a magical one hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat—an unforgettable wildlife experience.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you will take part in a Batwa Community Walk, a cultural experience that introduces you to the indigenous Batwa people, former forest dwellers of Bwindi. Learn about their traditional hunting techniques, medicinal plants, cultural dances, and way of life, gaining valuable insight into their heritage and conservation efforts.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, check out from the lodge and transfer back to Kihihi Airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Entebbe. Enjoy your final aerial views of Uganda’s lush landscapes.
Upon arrival in Entebbe, you will be transferred to your hotel or onward to Entebbe International Airport for your international departure, marking the end of your memorable gorilla flying safari.
